Christening in Elafonisos
You can believe that Paradise exists only if you attend a Christening in Elafonisos during summer.
Elafonisos is one of those picturesque, small, and charming islands in Greece that you love instantly. It is located between the extreme South East of Peloponnese and Kythira island. It is a place with calm waters and rare natural beauty that is perfect for a christening ceremony. According to ancient Greek Pausanias, the island took its name from the rich population of red deers in antiquity.
Christening Ceremony
Aggelianna’s christening in Elefonisos was held in the church of St. Spyridon. The church was built in 1858 to honor Saint Spyridon the Sailor. It is the main church of the island and is built on a tiny separate piece of land which is connected by a bridge over shallow waters to the rest of the island. What a magical way to enter the church!
Although on the christening day, we had one of the hottest summer days in Greece, nearly 43°C under the shadow, we all were in a great mood. Everything around us was melting. It was a blessing that the christening was surrounded by the sea breeze… The location was ideal and put friends and family in a vacation mood, making everyone radiant and happy.
Photography at Christening in Elafonisos
During this christening in Elafonisos, the child was relaxed and calm and looked splendid in her christening gown. It was one of these rare cases where the child really enjoys the christening ceremony and is comfortable with the attention it gets. Aggelianna was the perfect infant photography model. I had the best experience of christening photography at her baptism.
Aggelianna was cute and easy to photograph. Actually, she looked as if she was born to smile in front of the cameras! A natural-born star! The cutest little angel I have ever met. She was socializing, going from hug to hug, and spreading smiles to all guests. She even did not shed a tear during the whole ceremony.
