The Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounio is one of the most historic sites in Greece and an outstanding wedding destination, due to its majestic location. In this wedding photography session, we got our inspiration from the landscape and from the Temple of Poseidon, the Ancient Greek God of the Sea. Talented, professional vendors came together with wedding ideas, that couples soon-to-be-married can use into their own wedding day.
Cape Sounio Wedding Destination
Sounio is at the southeast of Athens, perched upon a smooth hill and overlooking the endless Aegean Sea. The Temple was built around 440 BC and rare white marble was used to construct it in Doric style. It stood to symbolized the power of Ancient Athens and it was the first sign of home when sailors were reaching Athens.
During the day, the water mirrors the sun and the birds, alongside with some of the timeless trees and flowers that you can see nearby the Temple. Some of the olive trees are standing for more than 200 years… So olive green with a few golden touches, some pink from the dusk and a little bit of blue from the sea, next to the rocks longevity we set up the perfect wedding scenery for a Greek-inspired wedding theme.
