Wedding Memories
To find true love at first site is a dream for many people… For Evgenia and Giannis that dream came true from the first moment they met and their Wedding in Tinos was a celebration of their love.
They share a sense of genuine joy and their happy giggle creates a loving atmosphere around them. They laugh together like dancing birds and they uplift people next to them with their positive vibes. A warm feeling of kindness is radiating from their faces when you look at them. Well, people in love tend to enjoy the little things and notice all beautiful details of life… as if wisdom is a side effect of an open heart.
That smile, Evgenia’s smile is unforgettable … like music for the eyes! How graceful she is!
Traditional Wedding
Put the blame on the island of Tinos or on the sunny day, but meeting them was a wonderful experience for me. Tinos has this power to make everything brighter and lighter. Who can resist the amazingness of the Aegean Sea’s deep blue?
Evgenia and Giannis’ heart-warming traditional Wedding in Tinos, took place in the Stavros Church. It’s a gorgeous scenery coupled with the traditional Cycladic architecture, a truly dreamlike scene!
Tinos is famous for its Churches, but few people are familiar with the astonishing wild beauty of its small, far away little Chapels of the island. On the Wedding day, a nice summer breeze was keeping us cool. The horizon was full of Cycladic colors and I couldn’t wait to start photo shooting their special day.
Although I am a Wedding Photographer for more than 10 years, every single time I feel the excitement of the first day… something is coming over me and I get in their shoes… I feel like a part of their soul. Maybe, that’s the reason why so many brides and grooms – after their wedding – refer to me as an old family friend.
We connect! Their wedding photography albums are full of memories, not just photographs. It is so touching, when couples say to their friends, that their wedding photographs look like a magical fairytale.
Wedding in Cyclades
In the center of Aegean Sea, Tinos is the homeland of great artists like Chalepas, Gyzis, Lytras, Filipotis, Sochos and the legend has it, that ancient Greek sculptor Phidias had shown his secrets to the local marble sculptors.
No wonder why Tinos has so high-standard architecture miracles to discover. The pigeon-houses or dovecotes will certainly catch your eye in the countryside. They are frosting the Tinian landscape with their strikingly beautiful ornaments, with their marble & stone embroideries. Although Venetians started this pigeon tradition, back in the 18th-century, locals take great care of their ancestors’ dovecotes.
Wedding Ceremony
The Stavros Church next to the Aegean Sea, facing Syros, was ready to welcome the couple for their Wedding Ceremony. Both sides family members and friends were exchanging visits from the early morning hours. Music, waves of laughter, wedding wishes of prosperity and happiness, were filling the air with tender and emotional moments. My camera was there and captured their pre-wedding, wedding and after-wedding celebration moments.
On the Wedding day, the weather worked out perfectly! The amazing beauty of the beach and the sunset, combined with the fine architecture gave to the Wedding photography session a particular charm and beauty. The incredible, pure brightness of light during the sunset embraced their Wedding ceremony, creating a natural and unparalleled romantic view.
The bride was breathtaking in her amazing wedding dress, with a stunning embroidered top. The Chapel was decorated with gorgeous flowers and the flower wedding bouquet was in beige, pink and soft green colors. The wedding reception decorations were chic and elegant and it fitted perfectly the style and theme of the wedding.
Wedding Celebration
The Wedding celebration in Elia at Vrekastro was the best place to enjoy their Wedding party. The Mediterranean cuisine by the sea and the good mood put the celebrations on fire. Everyone was dancing, drinking, laughing and having the time of their lives. It was the ideal spot for a happy gathering of family & friends!
After Wedding Day
The day after the Wedding we visited the Kardiani village, with the newlyweds. Kardiani has a spectacular view over the sea. Full of green, with crystal clear waters and tall trees, full of beautiful houses decorated with flowers… when nature takes over, then the result is marvelous. We had a sense of peace that emanated from the island!
Usually, it comes to a point that I have to share this golden tip of advice to a bride-to-be: “Live this day to the fullest”… In this Wedding, that point never arrived. Both bride and groom seized the day with all their heart! Also in this beautiful Wedding, I received the best compliment as a destination wedding photographer: “Monika you have a warm quality that makes people instantly relax and smile…”
