Michalis | Christening in Greece

Let me tell you something, you didn’t know about me: Yes, I am a crazy Greek-Italian aunt!

A Day to Remember in Diakopto, An Amazing Christening in Greece

May I share with you a special christening in Greece? Some photography sessions live in your heart forever, and this one holds a particularly special place in mine. It wasn’t just a baptism. It was the baptism of my nephew, Michalis, a little boy I never expected to love so intensely… and now I can’t imagine life without him. Yes, I am a crazy Greek-Italian aunt!

Set in the seaside village of Diakopto, the hometown of Michalis’s grandfather, this celebration was the perfect combination of tradition, summer light, and joyful spontaneity. His parents had one simple request for the guests: bring your swimsuits and your flip-flops! No dress code, no stress, just a carefree Saturday where everyone could be part of something real, relaxed, and full of laughter.

And that’s how a Christening in Greece is really about. It was the dream christening photography setup for all professional photographers in the industry. To create this carefree and relaxed atmosphere, leaving you space to capture real-life moments as they happen – unfiltered, emotional, and unforgettable.

Christening Highlights: The Little Imperfections That Became the Story

When you look through these images, you might notice something: my sweet Michalis has a few tiny mosquito bites on his cheeks. The night before, his skin was clear, but by morning, the mosquitoes had found him. Despite his mother’s every precaution, they left their tiny marks. We debated editing them out, but chose not to.

That’s part of the story. Months later, we still laugh about it, and Michalis himself loves to look at the photos again and again. In his eyes, this day wasn’t perfect because everything went according to plan, it was perfect because it was his.

Five Godparents, One Big Heart

Yes, you read that right, five godparents. And every single one of them was brimming with love, nerves, and pride. The emotions that danced around the church that day were raw and beautiful: teary eyes, wide smiles, and tender hands holding our little one with care. For a photographer, these are the moments you feel honored to witness, let alone capture.

A Team That Made It All Flow Effortlessly

The incredible team at My Best Wishes Events took care of every detail with style and grace. They managed to bring the family’s vision to life without an ounce of stress.

Manousenia Design gave us a custom concept inspired by Bob Marley and Jamaican colors: sunny, free-spirited, and full of personality. From the invitations to the signage, everything felt personal and fun.

And, of course, Martina added her sweet, artistic touches, drawing inspiration from the theme and transforming it into visual magic. The end result? A baptism that felt more like a love-filled summer gathering than a formal event.

Why I Love Christening Photography in Greece

Every christening I photograph is different, but they all have one thing in common: emotion. In Greece, christenings are more than just ceremonies. They’re celebrations of family, heritage, and life itself. Whether it’s a small chapel by the sea or a big event in the city, my goal is always the same: to capture the soul of the moment.

For me, this wasn’t just another assignment; it was a family memory I’ll hold close forever.
