When you work as a wedding photographer in Greece, you witness many beautiful love stories, but some celebrations leave you truly speechless. Photographing the wedding of Stephanie and Christopher, an extraordinary couple from Cyprus, on the magical island of Spetses, was one of those rare moments that stay with you forever. Their connection, their energy, and the amazing team behind this wedding created a day that felt vibrant, emotional, and absolutely unforgettable.
Meeting the Couple: From Cyprus to Athens to Spetses
Our first meeting took place online through Skype, and from the first moments, I knew their wedding would be special. Later, we met pre-wedding photo session in Athens where we talked through all the beautiful details of their day. Their kindness, enthusiasm, and warm chemistry made every step of the process feel natural and joyful.
A Wedding Celebration on the Island of Spetses
Before even arriving on the island, I had a feeling this wedding was going to be a lively celebration. Their friends had already started dancing and singing the day before the big event, the kind of energy you can’t help but love. The day began with the couple’s preparations at a beautiful Spetses complex that offered the perfect backdrop. Stephanie, elegant and calm, radiated a soft confidence. Christopher, full of excitement and attention to detail, reminded us why opposites attract and balance each other so beautifully.
A Ceremony at Agios Mamas: Heartfelt, Simple, and Full of Emotion
The picturesque little church of Agios Mamas, near the port of Spetses, was decorated with refined elegance by My Best Wishes Events. Thoughtful touches, refreshing drinks, and the warm Greek summer atmosphere welcomed every guest. The ceremony was intimate, full of sentiment, and left everyone, including us, behind the lens with a little tear of joy. Two people deeply in love, surrounded by the people who matter most. It was pure magic.
Bridal Portraits: Quiet Moments to Pause & Breathe In the Day
Before boarding the traditional boat that would take us to the party location, I spent a few quiet minutes alone with the couple for their bridal portraits. I always encourage couples to talk, to relive the emotions of the ceremony, to laugh and reflect. At some point, I step back and let them share that private, powerful moment that only newlyweds understand. They were both incredibly natural, honest, and fully present.
