Whimsical Wedding
Many young couples are dreaming to have a whimsical wedding in Spetses. You see, Spetses is a beloved wedding destination in Greece. So I hear a lot of soon-to-be-married couples talk about their future plans for their wedding day and most of them express how much they love Greece and adore the Princess of Aegean, Spetses!
When I first read about the Phos Workshop in Spetses island, I knew that it would be a wonderful opportunity for a wedding editorial photo shoot. So here we were, overlooking the Aegean Sea from one of the oldest Villas in Spetses. For the wedding concept, the organizers trusted the talented Think Happy Events wedding planner. And all of us could concentrate mostly on enjoying the photography sessions!
We had the best of the best instructors and models. And we were free to create our own wedding photography storytelling. This “wedding couple” seemed to take joy in spending their days and nights with all this photography attention on them. To be honest, that is the best way to enjoy your wedding. Being next to your soulmate, in the most beautiful location on earth, Greece.
Let the wedding editorial story begin…
Wedding Day Moments
The photography concept was designed on a late Spring wedding. Although the set for the wedding editorial took place at the end of April, the weather was kind and quite warm may I add. The wedding was devised to be opened only to a few family members and a couple of friends. Such a set-up and a marvellous backdrop could make all the guests be in an excellent mood, and led the couple to create the perfect wedding atmosphere… this is the way to be relaxed and super calm in front the camera as if one is born for that.
Wedding Inspiration
The theme of the wedding was the old Athenian style of late ’60s but with more whimsical and elegant approach. The bride model had a light of Grace Kelly all over her, her graceful movements and radiant joy made her look like an angel. Both models, bride and groom made me feel like we were shooting a film somewhere in Monaco… they gave me butterflies! Yes, they did! Just look at them!
The wedding flowers and bouquet were mesmerizing! The color palette of the wedding had a lot of blush, white, ivory, olive green, and warm shades of gold. But the one thing I will never forget is the wedding cake, which was a unique and handmade piece of sugar art. The combination with the flowers made me wonder how the Pavlov’s Lab pastry chef managed to create this magnificent dessert. I wish I could take this cake back home…
Wedding decorations and the dining table set up was carefully balanced and fully frosted according to the color palette of the wedding editorial. You could see the good taste in every single detail… from the flowers to the stationery.
Wedding Photo Album
Being close to the bride and groom gives me the opportunity to connect with their deeper truth. It is really refreshing to meet people in love and full of dreams. During wedding preparation and the wedding day itself, intense emotions come to the surface. So it is always better to create your wedding as a reflection of you and your spouse. When you have to deal with several last-minute turnovers, if you are happy and relaxed then everything is a good reason to smile.
Take this advice from a wedding photographer that has hit 10 years in wedding photo shootings: when you are next to the person you love and trust then your marriage will be successful. And your wedding photo album will be the living proof, that beautiful pictures are made of pure love!
