The great Spetses coasts have inspired some of the best weddings we’ve ever seen. I have a soft spot for seaside wedding photography everywhere on earth. Sea makes me smile! And when they call me to be the photographer at a wedding next to the sea, I can not hold my horses.
Phōs & Love
All you need to create everlasting photography is phōs & love. Do you know the meaning of the word photography? Photography: phōs+graphé both Greek words that can be translated as drawing with light. Light is the main element of taking images. Without phōs (light), taking photos is a hollow exercise as the only thing that would appear is pure blackness.
The quality of phōs is very important. So, this is why you might see photographers during the blue hour or golden hour in the most incredible places. To capture the phōs and the allure it creates. To freeze in time the magic the sun gives us, only for a few minutes a day. Simplicity was the main element of this shoot.
Wedding in Spetses
You don’t need much more when you have a dreamy backdrop that a Spetses’ beach can give you, a couple in love and all the wedding details that bring out the main elements of Greece: white, blue and perfect light. The perfect scenery for a seaside wedding in Greece!
We started at 7:00 am to catch that perfect stream of white and golden sun rays on a luminous spring morning. Everything was in place perfectly and I remember taking a couple of moments just to enjoy the sun on my face. The waters were like a mirror and the morning silence was calming.
Stones, water, beautiful details and light: the ideal ingredients to frame a stunning couple. Frida and Thabo, relaxed by the seaside, gave their best selves to enjoy the shoot so that I could draw their love with the help of light and my camera.
